How does EXILIS ULTRA work?
Who can benefit from this?
This technology consists of applying broad-spectrum light from a handpiece deposited on the skin. This light is directed at the two main skin chromophores, red pigment (hemoglobin) and brown pigment, melanocytes (pigment cells). Light targets hemoglobin by precipitating a clotting process. Subsequently, the body removes the clotted blood through a normal process of elimination.
The light sent to the brown pigment (stains) produces heat that removes water from the pigment cell. The spot becomes dry, slightly rough and exfoliates within 7 days of treatment. In addition to treating stains and rosacea, intense pulsed light stimulates the production of collagen and elastin in the skin. You will then see a marked improvement in the texture of the skin and a tightening of the dilated pores.
