ICON effectively treats a range of vascular and pigment lesions. We use its high-performance IPL or Mag G handpiece.<\/p>\n

This technology consists of applying broad-spectrum light from a handpiece deposited on the skin. This light is directed at the two main skin chromophores, red pigment (hemoglobin) and brown pigment, melanocytes (pigment cells). Light targets hemoglobin by precipitating a clotting process. Subsequently, the body removes the clotted blood through a normal process of elimination.<\/p>\n

The light sent to the brown pigment (stains) produces heat that removes water from the pigment cell. The spot becomes dry, slightly rough and exfoliates within 7 days of treatment. The procedure is performed in two stages, or \u201cpasses\u201d: The first pass treats facial discoloration and vessels using a technology called Intense Pulsed Light or IPL. IPL treats sun damage including freckles, age and pigment spots, and unsightly veins including broken blood vessels, facial veins and rosacea.<\/p>\n
